【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsareapplicabletospecimenswithorwithoutspecificconditioningregimens.Testsarepermittedtobeperformedonspecimensthatarenotatmoistureequilibrium,suchasunderproductionconditionsinaplant,oronspecimensthathavebeenconditionedtospecifiedmoisturecontentordurabilityconditioningpriortotesting.Thesetestmethodscanbeusedasfollows:Tostandardizethedeterminationofstrengthpropertiesforthematerialandjointbeingtested.Toinvestigatetheeffectofparametersthatmayinfluencethestructuralcapacityofthejoint,suchasjointprofile,adhesivetype,moisturecontent,temperature,andstrength-reducingcharacteristicsintheassembly.Thesetestmethodsdonotintendtoaddressallpossibleexposureorperformanceexpectationsofend-joints.Thefollowingaresomeperformancecharacteristicsnotconsidered:Long-termstrengthandpermanenceofthewoodadhesive.Timedependentmechanicalpropertiesofthejoint.Elevatedtemperatureperformanceofthejoint.1.1Thisstandardprovidestestmethodsforevaluatingthestructuralcapacityandintegrityofend-jointsinstructuralwoodproducts.1.2End-jointsaremanufacturedbyadhesivebondingofmachined,matedsurfacesattheendsoftwopiecesoflumbertoformajoint.Typicalend-jointconfigurationsincludefingerjointsandscarfjoints.Thecombinationofoneormoreend-jointsandtheadjoiningsectionsofthestructuralwoodproductwithintheassemblyisconsideredtobethetestspecimen.1.3Off-linetestmethodsinclude:(1)AxialTension,(2)Bending,and(3)CyclicDelamination.1.4In-linetestmethodsinclude:(1)TensionProofloadand(2)BendingProofload.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.5.1Thistestmethodprovidesproceduresforthedeterminationoftheaxialtensilecapacityoffull-sizeend-jointspecimenoff-line.5.2Applicationsofthistestmethodinclude:end-jointqualificationanddailyqualitycontrolofproduction,andotherpurposeswherethestrengthofafull-sizeend-jointmustbeverifiedordetermined.10.1Thistestmethodprovidesoff-linetestproceduresforthedeterminationofthecapacityoftheend-jointinbendingonshortspanssubjectedtoa4-pointloading.10.2Applicationsofthistestmethodinclude:end-jointqualificationanddailyqualitycontrol,andotherpurposeswherethestrengthofafull-sizeend-jointaretobeverifiedordetermined.15.1Thistestmethodprovidesproceduresforassessingtheabilityofthebondtoresistseparationafterrepeatedexposuretomoistureanddrying.Thistestmethodisforend-jointsinproductsrequiringevaluationofdurability,andalsoprovidesanindicationoftheoverallconsistencyoftheend-jointmanufacturingprocess.Note98212;ThisisadoptedfromTestMethodsD1101,TestMethodB,forfingerjoints.
