【摘要】:1DefinitionofscopeThisInternationalStandarddefinesalanguageandunderlyingmodelfortherepresentationof"hyperdocuments"thatlinkandsynchronizestaticanddynamic(time-based)informationcontainedinmultipleconventionalandmultimediadocumentsandinformationobjects.Thelanguageisknownasthe"Hypermedia/Time-basedStructuringLanguage",or"HyTime".HyTimecanrepresenttimeinboththeabstract,or"musical"sense,andinuser-definedreal-timeunits.Italsoprovidesawayofrelatingthetwosothatelementsoftime-dependentdocumentscanbesynchronized.NOTE7Thisfacilityextendstotherepresentationofmultimediainformationthepower,oncelimitedtoconventionaldocuments,todistinguishintrinsicinformationcontentfromstyleconsiderations.HyTime'stechniquesforrepresentingitstimemodelareequallyapplicabletospatialandotherdomains;allaretreatedassystemsformeasuringalongdifferentaxesofacoordinatespace.Arbitrarycross-referencesandaccesspathsbasedonexternalinteractions("hypermedialinks")arealsosupported.HyTime'stimerepresentationcontainssufficientinformationtoderivethedurationsofbothcontrol("gestural")data(e.g.,controlinformationforaudioorvideohardware)andvisualdata(e.g.,amusicscore,presentationstoryboard,ortelevisionscript).ThemediaformatsanddatanotationsofobjectsinaHyTimehyperdocumentcanincludeformattedandunformatteddocuments,audioandvideosegments,stillimages,andobject-orientedgraphics,amongothers.Userscanspecifythepositionsandsizesofoccurrencesofobjectsinspaceandtime,usingavarietyofmeasurementunitsandgranularities.Temporalrequirementsofapplicationsrangingfromanimationtoprojectmanagementcanbesupportedbychoosingappropriatemeasurementgranules.NOTE8ThisInternationalStandarddoesnotaddresstherepresentationofaudioorvideocontentdata,butsimplydefinesthemeansbywhichthestart-timeanddurationofsuchdatacanbesynchronizedwithotherdigitizedinformation.Nordoesitspecifythelayoutprocessbywhichoccurrencesofunformatteddocumentsandotherinformationobjectscanbemadetofitthepositionsandsizesspecifiedforthem.HyTimeisanenablingstandard,notanencompassingone.Asaresult,theobjectscomprisingaHyTimehyperdocumentarefreetoconformtoanyapplicationarchitectures,ortodocumentarchitecturesimposedbystandards,andtoberepresentedinanynotationpermittedbythosearchitectures.Onlythe"hubdocumenf,whichmaydeterminethehyperdocumentmembership,mustconformtoHyTimeinadditiontoanyotherarchitecturestowhichitmayconform.HyTimeisdesignedforflexibilityandextensibility.Optionalsubsetscanbeimplemented,aloneorinconjunctionwithuser-definedextensions.TheHypermedia/Time-basedStructuringLanguage(HyTime)isanSGMLapplicationconformingtoInternationalStandardISO8879—StandardGeneralizedMarkupLanguage.ThehyperdocumentinterchangeformatrecommendedinthisInternationalStandardisISO9069,theSGMLDocumentInterchangeFormat(SDIF).SDIFisdefinedinAbstractSyntaxNotation1(ISO/IEC8824)andcanbeencodedaccordingtothebasicencodingrulesofISO/IEC8825forinterchangeusingprotocolsconformingtotheOpenSystemsInterconnection(OSI)model.Otherinterchangeformatscanalsobeused.2FieldofapplicationThefieldofapplicationofHyTimeis"integratedopenhypermedia"(IOH),the"bibliographicmodel"ofhyperlinkingwhereinanauthorcan,byasuitablereference,linktoanything,anywhere,atanytime.BecauseofHyTime'smodulardesignandflexibleconformancerules,implementationsneedsupportonlythosefacilitiesthatarewithintheirpresentcapabilities.Userinvestmentinhyperdocumentpreparationisneverthelessencouragedbecauseofthewell-definedupward-compatiblepathtoafullhypermediasolution.H
